Re: Police dog drags boy down street
Another innocent child sacrifice of politicians desperately avoiding dog owner liability in a bid for popularity. I refer to the Nov. 30, 2006 story, 'Police dog drags boy down street', about another of the majority of dog attacks which are not connected to the popular "pit bull" misnomer. As long as politicians keep the spotlight on breeds, in addition to gaining popularity, they easily escape the effort and expense of addressing the cause of dog attacks, owners.
All breeds are highly manageable, in responsible hands. As we outlaw breeds one by one in a futile attempt to identify the "dangerous breeds", the message is clear, owners are excused of significant accountability with regard to their dog's actions because "it's in the genes". Meanwhile more innocent people, mostly children, will pay the price.
